Perhaps the worst single experience my wife and I have had in our lifetimes was hiring Tyson Kilgore. Tyson is lucky he is a contractor in a State where taking tests, regulations, a contractors' liscense, and a general understanding of home remodeling doesn't really matter. Because Illinois has no such requirements anyone may call themselves a contractor - including MR. Kilgore and KLT. He is not a contractor, he is a con-man. Classic con - he does one thing good to convince you he is worthy, then he gets you to pay up front for things/labor that will never get done. He has over $100,000 in past judgements against him since 2008. Most of the work he did on our house had to be re-done properly by another party after we fired him. He is a joke. After 3 months at our house, he had completed 19 out of 60 tasks on his list, and most of those were done improperly. This is not a guy who sometimes gets it right - he is a guy who will do it wrong every time and take all of your money in the process. Beware
My husband and I used KLT this past summer to do a very long needed repair work on our 100+ year old house. As the work was being done, we continued to add more jobs because we were so pleased with the craftsmanship. Tyson is always polite and professional and it has been a pleasure to get to know him and his workers.
This contractor is bad news. Stay away, actually run. We had him work on 2 projects - house rehab and mobile home rehab. Mobile home rehab was job that should have taken 1 week, 2 at most - 6 weeks into project and still not completed and no end in site. House Rehab was a job that should have taken 4-6 weeks - 6/7 months into project still not completed or no end in site. He will coerse you into paying him. His workers do not show up on site for full days work. KLT works on things out of order, such as laying carpet before ceiling has been textured. We paid KLT lot of money to not have our work completed. We made the mistake of paying him before completion and we did it 2 times thinking it would assist in getting all of our work done - we were wrong. Never again and we hope to spread the word so he does not do this to others as we have found out that he has. KLT is not trust worthy. They lied to us and suspect have done so to others. He stole our money as work was not completed. Run, Run, Run away!
KLT has done very good work for me in the past and if you look at he's work on Facebook you will see he's work before and after the job is finished and how well it looks after a finished project
We had have some very unexpected work done on the house just about 3 months after the first project was done. Of course we called Tyson and he was at our house the next day to help us figure out what needed to be done and how to do it. GREAT Job.
We have used KLT General Contractors for a variety of projects around the house, and we have been very pleased with his work. Recently we had our garage remodeled, porch railing replaced, and cracks repaired in the driveway. We plan to utilize his services again for our deck replacement in 2018. Tyson does a great job and wants to make the customer happy. Thanks KLT!
